Introduction
With lifestyle changes in recent decades, the prevalence of obesity, particularly among young individuals in Iran, has been steadily rising. Recognizing the growing importance of addressing this public health challenge, the Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Institute at Tehran University of Medical Sciences established the Obesity Research Group in September 2018.
This initiative aligns with the mission of academic and research institutions to advance public health by focusing on the prevention and treatment of obesity.
