In order to prevent and treat obesity, the Institute of Endocrine and Metabolism Sciences of Tehran University of Medical Sciences established an obesity group in September 2018.
In 2013, with the promotion of the research institute to the "Research Institute of Endocrine and Metabolism Sciences" in Tehran University of Medical Sciences, which includes three research institutes of clinical sciences, cellular and molecular sciences, and population sciences; The obesity group works under the name "Obesity and Eating Habits Research Center" as one of the subgroups of the Clinical Sciences Research Institute, under the management of Mr. Dr. Ahmed Reza Soroush as the head of the center and Dr. Shirin Hosni Ranjbar as the research assistant of the center.
